The kids and I made a trip down the Northeast Extension to visit with my mom for a few days. Bensalem is about a two and a half hour drive from where we live here in Old Forge (Pennsylvania). It is mostly hard to have my Momma so far away. Mostly. {wink, wink}
Anyway, we arrived on Wednesday afternoon just in time to grab a pizza and head on over to the Bensalem Amphitheater. After finding an available picnic table, and despite temperatures in the mid-90’s, we really enjoyed our quick dinner and some quick catching up. Sometimes I just am in the mood for “skinny” pizza. But that is the makings of another post. {smile}
The kids, my mom, her hubby and I met up with another couple, plopped our lawn chairs and blanket down on the grass, and waited for CSNsongs (a Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young tribute band) to take the stage. And then they did.

And then I was transported with pleasure. I had seen Crosby, Stills & Nash for real — over 25 summers earlier — also in an outdoor music venue in Philadelphia. And this band took me back to that place in time, and in my heart, and in my soul. I was fondly remembering fun, carefree college days. And I was singing along with gusto! (much to my children’s chagrin). Needless to say, I LOVED that concert!
The kids, my mom and I also spent some time at the pool in her development. Thank goodness for that pool! It sure does get hot (and humid) during these hazy days of summer.
Rhianna was there, too. But she says, “No pictures of me, Mom!” Sigh … okay. But I tell her that people won’t remember she exists if she doesn’t get into at least some pictures.
So, I have a quote for you. I figured this would be a fun addition to my blog. Every so often, I’ll offer up a quote and then tell you how it holds meaning for me. The quotes might be funny, inspirational, spiritual, or who knows what. Whatever I’m feeling. Sound good? Here’s the first one.

Author: My seven-year old son James. He told me this a few weeks ago as we were scrambling up Montage Mountain headed for a waterslide at the Waterpark there. I think I was acting silly then, too.
How it speaks to me: This is one of the best compliments I could ever receive! Even though I am approaching half a century on this planet, I am young enough in my son’s eyes to be silly, make him laugh and have fun. Still makes me smile when I remember it!
It really is great to spend time with my family! <3
