Handmade is the tangible result of an artist’s passion.
Handmade is the sharing of enthusiasm from the artist’s heart to the recipient’s soul.
When you buy handmade, you acknowledge this passion and enthusiasm, and you desire to have a piece of it as your own. When you shop local, you are likely to support someone you know, or someone in your community in their passion and their soul’s expression. Not to mention, you are financially supporting an artist as she pours her time, energy and sweat into the dream of owning her own business.
In this post I am highlighting my own business, Draw That Pig, in my shop local, buy handmade blog series. (Click here to read my first local business review of Sharp Dressed Dog.)
You may already know, the name of my business is Draw That Pig. (You can read more about my story here.) My business tagline is unique, high-quality gifts sewn up with love. My mission is to provide unique handmade gifts for babies and children, constructed of high-quality fabrics and meticulously sewn up with love. My goal is to warm the hearts of both the giver and the recipient, and to make you smile!
Products created by Draw That Pig include handmade items for babies, toddlers, and children. I make bibs and blankets, crayon rolls and pillowcases, teethers and pajama eaters. I can customize my items to color, fabric print, and theme. As I sew up each item, I think about the recipient and I smile knowing that she or he will receive a unique item, especially hand-crafted for them!
You can find these great gift ideas for that special little one in my Etsy shop and my Facebook page. I also sell my wares at several of the larger craft shows local to the Scranton area. There are three big ones coming up for the holiday season!
I am very proud of my work, and you can be sure that you are getting a lasting product when you buy from me. My sewing skills are meticulous, and my attention to detail is strong. Of course, Big Box stores sell the same kinds of items that I sell — but they are nowhere near the quality. Also, I can offer unique fabric combinations and special prints that you won’t find at typical retailers. Even compared to other handmade sellers, Draw That Pig‘s quality and eye for color and fabric cannot be beat. 😉
This holiday season my Magic Christmas Pillowcases will be available again. They come with an adorable poem which tells of the magic of Christmas Eve as your child awaits a visit from Santa, and a bag of reindeer food. I will also have matching Santa Mug Rugs so your child can have a special spot to place cookies and milk for the Big Guy, as well as a personal note to Santa. These sets will be available both online and at my local shows.
Well, I better get busy filling my orders and making stock for the holiday season. I hope I see you soon — either online or in person at one of my shows this year! <3
